Somatic breathwork in Beirut, in person with Olga Safa: a 60-minute guided experience combining conscious connected breathing, sound healing, and Reiki to create a space for relaxation, self-awareness, and emotional release. No experience is needed.
The breath is the one part of the nervous system you can steer directly. Change its rhythm and the body follows: the logical mind quiets, held tension surfaces, and what the body has been storing gets a chance to move. That is the whole premise, and it is why the session is in person only. The breath needs a room, a mat, and someone beside you.

What is somatic breathwork?
Somatic breathwork uses a continuous, rhythmic breath, with no pause between the inhale and the exhale, to shift the body out of everyday alertness. Slow, deliberate breathing has been shown in a systematic review of 15 studies to increase parasympathetic activity and reduce anxiety, and Harvard Health describes breath control as one of the most direct ways to quiet the stress response. The connected breath Olga teaches goes a step further: sustained for 45 minutes with sound, it tends to bring emotion to the surface, which is where the release happens.
Olga is a certified New Me Breathwork Coach (2015) and weaves in the sound healing and Reiki she has practised since 2009. The combination is what makes these sessions different from a breathing class: the breath opens, the sound holds, and the hands-on work grounds.
The Session
45-Minute Breathwork Journey
You are guided through a specific breathing practice for approximately 45 minutes, allowing you to connect with your body, breath, and emotions. The breathwork is accompanied by sound healing, creating an immersive environment that supports relaxation and deeper release.
15-Minute Integration
The final 15 minutes are dedicated to slowing down, grounding, and integrating the experience. You have time to rest, reconnect with your body, reflect on what you experienced, and share anything that may have emerged during the session. Reiki can be incorporated as an additional energy-based practice, supporting a sense of relaxation, grounding, and overall balance.
What breathwork can offer
Depending on the individual, the experience may support:
- Deeper relaxation and stress reduction
- Nervous system regulation after a long period of stress
- Greater connection with the body and breath
- Emotional awareness and release, including of grief or anger that has had nowhere to go
- A sense of grounding and presence
- Mental clarity and inner calm
- Space to pause, reconnect, and reset
Every session is unique. You are guided through the experience at your own pace, with no expectation to achieve a particular outcome. For the family patterns underneath a recurring emotion, breathwork pairs naturally with Family Constellations or Ancestral Healing; for a quieter, fully receptive session, see Sound Healing.
Who this is for
People who think a great deal and feel less than they would like to. Anyone carrying stress in the body: the clenched jaw, the shallow breath, the sleep that does not restore. People in Beirut who want an in-person practice rather than an app. And anyone curious about breathwork who would rather start with a facilitator beside them than in a room of forty.
